History
Published for the first time in 1836 with a follow-up in 1840 the Annals of the Viennese Museum of Natural History belong
to the longest standing published periodicals in Europe. In 1886 these publications the “Annalen des k. k. naturhistorischen
Hofmuseums” (Annals of the imperial natural history Museum) succeeded, which have been published persistently for 130 years,
nowadays as “Annalen des Naturhistorischen Museums in Wien”. Then as now the “Annalen” contain contributions from all natural scientific disciplines housed in the museum and are an
internationally acknowledged journal.
