Lost Families
In spring 1943 the herbarium consisting of about 12,000 bundles was brought to different locations in Lower Austria to avoid the destruction of the entire collection.But in July 1945 it was told that the part that was moved to Ober-Höflein near Retz burnt; only a few fascicles remained.
The following families were destroyed partly or totally:
Gymnospermae:
- alle Familien (die Zapfen in der Früchtesammlung wurden nicht zerstört)
